Xiaomi, the world’s largest mobile phone maker, has decided to abandon its flagship Mi brand, overtaking Huawei, Apple and Samsung.
Xiaomi’s flagship sub-brands are the Mi, Redmi and POCO brands, among which the Mi brand, which offers its premium products to the market, is on the verge of being dropped.
Instead, they will be launching all of their future premium products under the Xiaomi name, but this will not make any difference to the Redmi brand, which is launching budget friendly products.
Mi brand Explained
You may recall that the first Xiaomi Mi to be released was not a mobile phone but an Android custom ROM called MIUI. With the rapid popularity of MIUI, they launched the Mi 1 mobile phone in 2011.
MIUI is currently in its 12.5th edition, and the Mi series is set to launch the Mi 11 mobile phone. In addition, through other sub-brands such as Redmi and POCO, Xiaomi has managed to gain a great deal of publicity and customer attention around the world.
According to the rebrand, Xiaomi has named the latest in the Mi Mix series, the Xiaomi Mix 4.
